Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident right from the day she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first race, Felix was second in the 200 meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. A year later Felix was awarded her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting an all-time junior world record taking 200 metres within 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007, she won this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She always finished in the top three of the events.
