Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin, Ireland on November 11, 1966. She is a model as well as an Irish actress. Following her small debut performance as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, 1989's Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character in A View to a Kill (Bond film, 1985), she went onto play the Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). A photographer approached Doody. Doody began to model and subsequently the profession of commercial modeling. Doody was extremely strict about not doing glamorous or sexually explicit work. This rule extended into the acting profession. When she was dragged into the sights of the director who cast a new James Bond film she accepted a small part as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of 12 Promising New Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was only 18 years old when she made her debut in the Bond role. As of today she's the newest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying with Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first leading role. The episode aired in 1988 opposite Dawn French, John Hurt along with Jennifer Saunders. The year 1988 was the first time she played with Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathiser and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery, who played Indy's father. Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries, a British mini-series that was inspired by Hitler Diaries. When she moved to Hollywood, Doody became famous. She played Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody who was off acting for more than 10 years, came back 2003 to play a small part on The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her as a character at the ceremony for awards. In 2004, she appeared with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She also appeared as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 pamphlet on the Holocaust. Doody was cast in Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). The following year, she had been scheduled to be the main character in The Asphyx remake, but the project was cancelled. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season of two years. In 2014, she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. The 21st of November, 2018, she was honored by the Almeria tierra de cine award as well as a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
